The location of the production of metal processing equipment at the Sasovo plants is part of the joint Russian-Taiwanese enterprise, created last year, 51% owned by the Baltic Industrial Company, and 49% by Buffalo Machinery.

Buffalo Machinery is one of the largest Taiwanese manufacturers of metal processing equipment of the widest range. It produces metal-cutting machines under its own brands Microcut, Challenger and Axile. It is also a large OEM-manufacturer of machine tools of several well-known European brands. Metal cutting equipment Buffalo Machinery is used in many Russian industrial enterprises, including for the performance of important government orders. Machines Buffalo Machinery successfully operated in 52 countries. 

 

 

Dr. Paul Chang is the founder and president of Buffalo Machinery in Taiwan, chairman of the Renewable Energy Committee of the Republic of Taiwan, a professor at the State Electrotechnical University of Taiwan, visited «Sasta» machine tool plant and the Sasovo Foundry.

Dr. Paul Chang as a member of the delegation conducted an inspection of the production areas of the Sasovo plants: the possibilities of foundry production, as well as the machining workshop and assembly sites. During the excursion, representatives of the Taiwan side asked a number of questions, as well as a number of tips and suggestions for improving production processes.

 

 

 

 

 

The line of metalworking equipment planned for placement in Sasovo is the new high-precision 5-axis machining centers AXILE, corresponding to the concept of production "Industry 4.0". This equipment is designed to solve complex production problems. The machines have an intelligent control system that ensures maximum productivity and accuracy of machining of parts. These 5-axis machining centers are equipped with a system for monitoring temperature expansions, vibration sensors and a system for monitoring the operability of all units for the organization of timely maintenance.

At the moment, the machine-tool plant "Sasta" is awaiting the arrival of a new model rig for casting the first batch of stands and basic machine components for the new 5-axis machines of the joint Russian-Taiwanese production.

 

  

 

To create a truly efficient and modern production is currently being technical re-equipment and modernization of the machine-tool "Sasta" plant and Sasovo foundry: under reconstruction and repair of production areas, new melting equipment purchased and put into operation, factory workers start and learn new metalcutting machines of procurement group.

Sasovo Foundry

  • A new melting plant with a capacity of 3.5 tons is expected to be delivered. This will make castings of cast iron weighing up to 6200 kg. In addition, it will be possible to duplicate the Inductotherm smelter in service.
  • Inductotherm melting unit is being modernized: replacement of cooling system, transformer, TPCH, inductors and refractory plates.
  • A new cooling tower is put into operation, which will significantly increase the productivity, especially in the summer, and exclude downtime.
  • Work is underway to build a new annealing chamber 8 meters in length.
  • New equipment has been purchased and installed in the factory laboratory, which will make it possible, as a result of even more accurate analyzes and tests, to exclude the possibility of production rejection almost entirely.
  • Reconstruction of the roof of the foundry and general redecoration.

 

 

 

Machine-tool plant "Sasta"

  • The T6000 waterjet cutting unit, produced by F.O.R.T., Russia, was put into operation at the welding and procurement site. Waterjet cutting has a number of undeniable advantages over thermal types of metal cutting. This is the lack of heating of the cut workpieces, that is, there is no thermal impact on the material, which eliminates thermal stresses and deformations of the material being processed. Ultimately, this prevents hardening, deformation, and contamination by elements such as harmful fumes and gases inherent in other types of cutting during processing. And one more important plus - there is no dust. To date, this machine has allowed us to increase the thickness of the sheet processed to 150 mm.
  • A new laser cutting machine with CNC BySmart Fiber 3015x2000 mm from Bystronik, Switzerland, was launched and is functioning. This equipment allowed to increase the thickness of the processed sheet material to 12 mm, and to expand its range, including the processing of stainless steel and sheets of non-ferrous metal.

 

  • The delivery of the ramming machine by Promau S.R.l. (Italy) DAVI MCA 2520 is expected. The working shaft length is 2550 mm, the maximum thickness of the folded sheet is 8 mm.
  • Recruitment for workers and administrative professions is conducted.
  • A system of industrial practice for universities and colleges of Sasovo and the Ryazan region, Moscow State Technological University "Stankin" and St. Petersburg Polytechnic University Peter the Great was launched.
